Torn

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO DEAL WITH IT?
This is an African-American film that deals with "the relationship." This is a rather boring film with borderline characters. Delroy (Walter Maxfield Jones ) has discovered his BBW wife April (Tamieka Chavis) is having an affair with his son's basketball coach (William Lash). He is a great husband and father he claims as he confides to Jasmine (Chanté Bowser ) a stranger he meets in a bar, She has her own issues and Delroy listens attentively and helps her as he develops a platonic relationship with her.

His wife's affair is of course his fault because he didn't pay this kind of attention to his wife, whose dream is to open her own beauty salon.

Writer/director Frank E. Jackson jr. has hit the nail on the head in about 105% of the relationships out there...an idea given to him by a woman, imagine that. Unfortunately Frank failed to create characters that weren't cardboard and a script that would hold interest.

3 stars for the effort...

i love it
Ienjoyed the movie It was worth the money. Iwould love to see more movie like this movie really enjoyed the movie.

The Road to Hamelin [HD]

Off to an exciting start!
So glad "The Killing" was renewed for this third season. The acting once again is superb! The relationship between Linden & Holder is like magic. If you're looking for a smart detective drama with heart this is the show for you.

Addictive!
I watched season 1 and 2 and was addicted! I get bored easily but this show kept me wanting to know what happened next. Some would call it slow, I think it keeps you guessing and just when you think you know what is going to happen, it changes. The first and second season is about the same case. The third season is a new case that shows how Holder matured with the help of his previous partner Linden.

The third seasons starts off with a two hour premiere. It is just as addictive as the other seasons! One note, the show takes place in Seattle but it is actually filmed in Vancouver which is not too far away. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!

Updated July 26, 2013: I bought the third season so I can own each one as it is released. I think the last episode, "Reckoning', was one of the most moving ones yet. I actually cried as I watched it. That is the thing with this show; you will laugh, cry, and think. You really feel like you know the characters, it...

Thank You!!
Never Ever watch tv anymore EXCEPT for this show!! the acting is superb and the writing is wonderful. It's nice to know at least there are one or two shows left on television that are worth watching

Mud

"Mud" could've been called "Ellis"
"Mud" (2012 release; 130 min.) is the newest film from writer-director Jeff Nichols, who just last year brought us the excellent "Take Shelter" thriller (starring Jessica Chastain). As the movie opens, we get to know two young boys, 14 yr. old Ellis (played by Tye Sheridan) and his best friend Neckbone (played by Jacob Lofland), in a small boat on the Mississippi river, on their way to an island where they have found something incredible: a boat that somehow ended up high in a tree. The boys think the boat is abandoned and want to make it their playground, only to find out that someone is living in the boat: Mud (played by Matthew McConaughey). Mud is a refuge of the law for killing a man who got involved with Mud's on-again, off-again girlfriend Juniper (played by Reese Witherspoon). Mud gains the trust of the boys and convinces them to assist him in getting the boat lowered from the tree. We also get to know Ellis' family, as his mom and dad are going through tough times and are...

Well-written, well-acted and very well directed!
MUD may be the best movie of 2013 through the end of April. I was thoroughly entertained and captivated from the opening moments until the final shot. The movie is so well crafted and acted. It grapples with resonant themes. This is a small movie that never feels small. It's as gripping as any blockbuster thriller...yet is told on a small, personal level.

It all starts with a great script by director Jeff Nichols (who also did the outstanding, but leisurely paced TAKE SHELTER). Nichols is telling a coming-of-age story...and that's about as worn-out an idea as you can think of. Yet even as portions of it feel as familiar as a Mark Twain novel...it's also never less than fresh and invigorating. Nichols has packed his script full of serious themes, yet he never forgets to tell a good story.

The story is set in Eastern Arkansas, right along the banks of the Mississippi. In fact, our hero is Ellis, lives in a houseboat right on the water. His parents (Sarah...

****1/2
Genre-wise I would say "Mud" is best described as a coming of age drama thriller. Matthew McConaughey sporting the most terrifying prosthetic dentures in film history outside of the horror genre, stars as the title character Mud. As good as he is in his role and as good as the other adult actors are, the film ultimately belongs to the young teen actors Tye Sheriden (The Tree of Life) and Jacob Lofland (film debut). I actually would love to see these boys get noticed come Oscar season but that isn't likely to happen.

Film Breakdown
After a flood in a small Arkansas town, two teenage boys discover a boat lodged in a tree in a wooded area near the river. They quickly discover that someone resides in the boat's cabin area. The boys soon find out that it is Mud living in the boat and that he is hiding out for reasons I won't say in this review. In no time road blocks are set up to try and find Mud, one of the boys lets Mud know of this development and that is when Mud...

Riveting
I love true crime stories and these are just different from run of the mill shows of this type. Interesting.

If you love Snapped...
If you love Snapped like I do, this show is a must watch. It does profile cases we have seen before on Snapped sometimes, and all new really strange murder stories. Excellent

ME
I was an extra in this episode. Since I am in it, of course I loved it! I am in another I will purchase as well

Behind the Scenes: Doug Jones [HD]

What Happened to Free for Prime?
I'm pretty frustrated that Amazon gave us Prime users the shaft on this one. When the news broke last year it was presented like Amazon Prime members would be getting access to the latest season, and that is not the case. Additionally, it sounded like Amazon was getting some exclusive deal but the most recent season is on iTunes as well. I'll be giving Apple my money this time around once again as their season price still beats Amazon. Amazon really needs to do better with their communication and pricing. At least give a price break to Amazon Prime members that would compete with iTunes.

Amazon Prime?
Fantastic series, really much better than I expected when first started watching. But now I'm addicted (or maybe harnessed!). But why are season 3 episodes not free for Prime members as they become available??

Why the hell was I charged for this!?
This should not have been included with the season pass! $1.89 for a behind the scenes video!? This is always free, yet I paid $1.89 this morning.
UPDATE
Amazon corrected the billing issue, thought I rating the episode and not the show. The show is great.

Stan By Me

I was hopeful
I was hopeful that the 2nd season of this show would change things up a bit, and make the show more adult friendly. Before anyone calls me out for being an adult complaining about a kids show, take note that it doesn't have to be that way. Avengers: EMH, Batman: Brave and the Bold, Spectacular Spider-Man, and Young Justice are all examples of recent cartoons that were great for both adults and kids alike. The humor doesn't have to appeal to the lowest common denominator in order for kids to like it. That has been proven before, and it saddens me to see one of my favorite characters fall into this trap.

Not Bad
I am not a big fan of the Ultimate stories from Marvel, but this animated show isn't bad. It doesn't follow the comic series but creates it's own universe.

Spiderman
Well this show is different. It would be really cool if they could make a movie with all the super heroes mixed in together with the SHIELD group. Like adding the fantastic 4, and some of the other heroes from other movies that are part of the Marvel collection. It would be really cool to see them all on one movie together working as a team, with Capt. America, Iron Man, Hulk, etc. Having them all on together would be cool. Like AquaMan, and maybe even Batman, and wonderwoman, just to name a few that would be a nice touch. But never know when they'd or if they'd do it.
